Leigh Keily is an Australian born London based fashion and portrait photographer. He studied at Central Saint Martins and the London College of Fashion. Whilst at Saint Martins he began shooting for youth magazine Disorder, publishing fashion editorial and portraits of actors, musicians, and London personalities.
During his studies at LCF he worked at London Fashion Week on the daily newspapers, various UK magazines, and shot the main advertising campaign for high street brand River Island. After graduating he produced series of portraits for The Independent newspaper documenting the hardships encountered by students graduating in the midst of the recession.
Merging fashion with portraiture to develop his unique style, Leigh has become increasingly sought after to photograph personalities, recently shooting Leah Weller, Jedward, Aiden Grimshaw, Joe McElderry, Kieran Richardson, and the cast of Merlin- all for covers.
In his other role as Creative Director and co-founder of fashion and culture magazine PHOENIX, Leigh brings his natural talent for imagery to the publication, working to create and commission memorable and inspiring photography and illustration.
Leigh’s work has been displayed in the Fashion and Textiles Museum, and recently at Gallery Nova in Bratislava as part of the On Photographic festival.
Current areas of practice have focused on cultural personality, as well as the publication of his first book “On the Edge”, a series of portraits featuring the diverse residents of the Nevada desert. |
